2026 Agape Reset

The late Bishop Robert Stroup preached his final message at our church on November 2, 2025, and his title was, “The Greatest Challenge of God’s End-time Church.” His focus was on the need for agape love to be more evident in the church in these last days. His message captured the hearts of our church as we felt God speaking what is truly our greatest challenge.

So the Brazil UPC has adopted a theme for 2026 that includes an ἀγάπη. That is the Greek word that translates as “love” which can be pronounced, ah-gap-ay. Jesus called his new commandment for the disciples:
John 13:34–35
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

 The 2026 ἀγάπη reset will include four words: Love, humility, sowing, and harvest. Each will define our compass setting that we hope to follow this year. As we focus on practicing ἀγάπη love, one of the qualities that will naturally follow is humility. To be more useful to God, we must demonstrate humility:
1 Peter 5:5–6
5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

So part of 2026 will be a humility reset.

But also, seedtime and harvest will be part of this reset.
Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

As we hit the 2026 reset button, focusing on demonstrating love and humility will lead us to planting more seeds in our community in 2026, with the idea, the more we sow, the more we grow, and the more we will harvest. And this harvest must purposely target more children, more youth, more families, more of those recovering from addictions. And this outreach effort will not be confined to a church “department,” but an outreach that becomes part of an entire church culture reset. Every ministry of the church will be reset to bring in the culture of ἀγάπη and humility among us, to lead to more planting seeds of the gospel for a harvest return.

All of our people-reaching efforts, all need to be saying, “You are welcome and belong here. A life reset is possible for you in 2026.”
